For 14 July, Tinker AFB remains in HPCON Bravo Plus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest confirmed cases are for the weekend through Monday and include 8 members of 552 ACW (B282, B230), 6 members of OC-ALC (B3001, B9001, B3221), 1 each in Navy MEPS and Army MEPS, 1 each from 306 IS and HQ AFFSA, and 2 from 72 SFS (B7017, B7003). Health officials are actively tracing all recent movements and contacts in conjunction with affected units and local health authorities. Anyone considered to have been exposed to increased risk will be contacted directly.

On Thursday, 16 July, at 11 a.m. the Air Force Employee Assistance Program will be hosting a no cost, web-based training: Daily stress balance and work life survival guide. In this training, participants will personally define balance, discuss the influence of values and roles on balance, and examine how current roles align with their values. Participants will also learn life hacks to simplify their lives to allow more time to focus on what’s most important to them. The training can be reached here: http://magellanhealth.adobeconnect.com/rlj7g4nqu0ht/

Recently, a child participating in the summer program tested positive for COVID. In response, the Youth Center closed for disinfection and occupants of affected classrooms were placed in restricted movement. While public tracing and notifications continue, Public Health recommends incorporating the following actions to reduce exposure risk:  Self-monitor for symptoms by checking temperature twice a day and monitoring for fever, cough, or shortness of breath, contact a healthcare provider if illness develops, avoid contact with people at higher risk of severe illness, follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop, avoid close contact with sick people (more than 10 minutes within 6 feet), cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Any questions should be directed to the hotline number below, or visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

For all of us, please continue social distancing, mask wearing, hand-washing and regular sanitizing when on installation and while in the community. If you feel flu symptoms, stay away from work and contact your supervisor. Free COVID testing and appointment options can be found here: https://www.tinker.af.mil/coronavirus/

REMINDER: Don’t forget in every case to contact the Medical Group COVID-19 Public Health Hotline at 405-582-6297 with any questions or concerns. If you get tested at one of the Free Testing Sites, and test positive, you must contact this Hotline. Violations of OPSEC endanger national security!
