The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Engineer, Supervisory Computer Scientist (NH-0801-1550-04) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 812th Test Support Squadron, (812 TSS/CL) at Edwards AFB, in Edwards, California.

NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.

Incentives:

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $142,094 - $191,900 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities for organizations in excess of 20 people.
- 4+ years of flight test experience highly desired
- 4+ years of data analysis experience desired
- 2+ years tool development experience highly desired

Mission/Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide overall policy and direction for the 812th Test Support Squadron. The 812th Test Support Squadron consists of 5 flights and approximately 80 people. The 812th Test Support Squadron provides broad support to the Group and Wing in the areas of Engineering Development, Investment Planning, Technical Library, Statistical Methods and Test Techniques. The Squadron Director integrates and directs the overall squadron effort and interacts with other Squadron Directors and integrated/combined test force engineering chiefs to provide complete test project support and capability development. The incumbent carries full responsibility for the work accomplished by subordinate flights, using civilian/military professional, technical, and administrative personnel.

Major Duties:
- Provides technical and test management expertise in the respective area of responsibility, either air vehicle T&E, engineering development, or the support infrastructure to the 412th Test Engineering Group.
- Technical and managerial supervision is exercised over the Squadron's engineering and technical staff, and administrative support staff to ensure uniformity and adequacy in planning, provisioning, conducting, evaluating and
reporting of respective developmental test and evaluation activities, developmental engineering activities or business and management infrastructure activities.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Top Secret Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree highly desired
- Financial Management Statement required
- DAWIA Certification Test and Evaluation - Practitioner
- Expert knowledge of advanced concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test engineering disciplines.
- Expert knowledge of combat air vehicle systems and related systems or test support operations and infrastructure.
- Expert knowledge of flight and laboratory air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of flight test programs.
- Strong ability to plan and organize work, coordinate between various electronic/aerospace/mechanical engineering and test disciplines and coordinate with other Air Force, DOD, and other domestic and foreign government agencies.
