WHAT: The California Department of Transportation has scheduled Lane Closures on the northbound and southbound Antelope Valley Freeway between Technology Drive in Palmdale and Avenue A in Lancaster, closing up to three lanes. The closures are necessary to perform pavement replacement, inside shoulder work and set K-rail that will extend the life of the existing lanes by a minimum of 40 years and improve ride quality. Currently, construction work is on-going Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 6 a.m., and Friday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. to minimize traffic impacts. New trainings for spouses and dependents aim to increase career opportunities.

The 412^th Force Support Squadron is excited to announce an opportunity for free vocational training’s beginning in Fall 2026. These high-impact trainings will be provided by community partners at no charge. Once participants complete the training, community partners offer employment placement assistance to help graduates secure positions aligned with their new certificates, ensuring the program leads directly to meaningful job opportunities. Further, the certificates earned are portable, allowing you to take them with you when you PCS. Initial trainings will include career fields in:

• Child Care Safety Training – Providing more individuals to offer home-based childcare on the installation
• Peer Support Specialist Training – Opens pathways for a career with mental health care providers, community health centers, nonprofit health organizations, and veteran support programs

BLUF: Cybercriminals are exploiting the content-sharing features of popular AI platforms (like ChatGPT and Claude) to display fake "service outage" pages. These pages are designed to trick users into downloading malicious software disguised as desktop applications.
The Threat: "LLMShare" Campaign
Threat actors are abusing the code-rendering capabilities of AI platforms to create convincing, fake web pages. Because these fake pages are hosted directly on trusted domains (e.g., ChatGPT's actual domain), traditional security filters often fail to block them. Here is how the attack chain operates:
● Fake Outage Notice: Users click a shared AI link that renders a fake service disruption notice (e.g., "We're experiencing high traffic right now... Download our desktop app to continue.").
● Deceptive Downloads: The page includes a download button that redirects to a cloned, malicious download site (such as openew[.]app).
● Malware Installation: The cloned site offers Windows, macOS, and Chrome extension downloads. Clicking these installs malware, such as info-stealers, which can compromise credentials and grant attackers’ remote access to systems.
● Cross-Platform Targeting: This tactic is not limited to ChatGPT. Similar attacks have been observed using Claude, masquerading as fake "Apple Support" installation guides.

● Do not use unapproved commercial generative AI services on your NIPRNet computer. GenAI.mil should be used for all mission-related purposes.
● Do not download any software or browser extensions prompted by a shared AI chat link. The attackers are relying on the implicit trust we place in established AI domains to bypass suspicion.
● Use Approved Software Only: Only download and install applications through the Edwards AFB Software Center or officially approved DoW channels.
● Verify Links: Be highly suspicious of any "outage" or "high traffic" notices that immediately push a software download, especially if the URL changes (e.g., shifting from an official domain to a generic .app domain).
● Report Incidents: If you encounter one of these fake pages on government equipment, or if you suspect you accidentally clicked a malicious download link, immediately disconnect your machine from the network and contact the Communications Squadron / Base Cybersecurity.

The office of Special Investigations, Detachment 111, is working vigilantly to identify, neutralize and exploit foreign intelligence entities. Our adversaries will attempt to take advantage of our services members, DoD/DAF Civilians and DoD/DAF contractors due to recent US government actions. Due to the recent government agency shutdowns, layoffs, resignations, and other government actions, it would be highly likely for members to receive solicitations, job offers, information requests through social media, email and other electronic means. Some of these attempts can be done through email phishing attempts as well. 2026 – Notice to AFGE Bargaining Unit Employees (BUEs) Concerning Union Dues
Employees desiring to initiate an authorization for dues withholding may obtain an SF 1187 from any AFGE steward or official.  The effective date will be the first full pay period after receipt of the SF 1187 by the Civilian Pay Section. 
Employees wishing to discontinue their dues withholding may obtain an SF 1188 from the Civilian Pay Section or the Labor Relations Office.  Discontinuance of dues withholding will be effective as follows:
1) For an employee who began dues withholding allotments before 11 January 1979; Beginning the first full pay period following 1 September provided the SF 1188 is received by the Civilian Pay Section prior to 1 September.
2) For an employee who started dues withholding on or after 11 January 1979 but before 10 August 2020; Beginning the first full pay period following the particular anniversary date (the anniversary date is the starting date of the first pay period for which dues were deducted from the employee’s pay).
3) For an employee who started dues withholding on or after 10 August 2020, the Agency should process the request as soon as administratively feasible if at least one year has passed since the employee initially authorized union-dues assignment from the employee’s pay.

WHAT: AADD is seeking volunteers to dedicate some of their time to provide transportation services to those in need. Any information about drivers, dispatch, or users of program stays anonymous and is not tracked.

It's never too early to prepare for retirement! Retirement planning is not a one-time event, but a career-long strategy of financial literacy and mindfulness. It is recommended you begin planning at least five years before your projected retirement date.

Edwards AFB Visitor Control Center would like to remind all personnel the changes in Installation Access requirements. The safety and security of the base remains our top priority and adherence to these requirements listed below ensures safe and efficient access to Edwards AFB. Military personnel, civilian employees, contractor’s dependents, and base residents are not impacted by this change. These groups may continue to use their Common Access Card or Uniformed Services identification Card for base access. 

Starting May 7, members without a Common Access Card or Uniform Services Identification Card need a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card to gain base access. Real ID-compliant licenses and identification cards are easily recognizable by a star in the upper corner of the card.

The Real ID Act was passed by congress in 2005 to enhance national security. The goal was to make it difficult to produce counterfeit IDs and it creates a verification standard across all states.  

IDs that contain the markings: “Not Valid for Federal Purposes,” “Not for Use as Federal Identification,” “Federal Limits May Apply,” or any other similar phrase are no longer an acceptable credential and must be utilized in conjunction with a federally accepted credential.

Retired Civilians who do not possess a real ID can bring a copy of their SF50 along with their nonfederal issued ID, original birth certificate with raised seal and social security card.  They will be issued a DBIDs card for a period of 1 year (365 days).

Visitors who do not possess a driver’s license or identification card compliant with the REAL ID Act need to present two valid forms of identification to gain access to base. Accepted forms are listed below:

• United States Passport or United States Passport Card.
• US Birth Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship (Form-550).
• Enhanced driver’s license issued by a State, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia.
• Any other U.S. Federal, State, territory, possession, or District of Columbia Government-issued credential bearing a photograph, including credentials from other paragraphs in this section that are deemed acceptable by the DoD Component head and consistent with applicable laws. (ex. Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST, TWIC, Tribal Card, VHIC, PIVs).
• Identification Card Issued by Federal, State, or Local Government Agencies Provided It Contains a Photograph and Biographic Information such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Height, Eye Color, And Address.
• Any other government-issued credential bearing a photograph and deemed acceptable by the DoD Component.
• Non-CAC LRC issued by the local installation or region.
• Permanent Resident Card/Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551).
• Foreign passport with a temporary (I-551) stamp or temporary (I-551) printed notation on a machine-readable immigrant visa.
• Foreign passport bearing an unexpired immigrant or non-immigrant visa or entry stamp.
• Foreign Government Issued Passport with Current Arrival-Departure Records (INS Form 94) Bearing Names as the same name as the passport and containing an endorsement of an Alien’s nonimmigrant status, it that Status authorizes the Alien to work for the employer.
