An active duty member, assigned to the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, is being treated and evaluated by health care professionals at an off-installation medical facility and is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 among the base population. The member does not reside on Edwards Air Force Base and was quarantined at an off-base residence after showing signs during a vacation. The commander and leaders of the AFMS - Edwards AFB - 412th Medical Group and 412th Test Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant conduct COVID-19 Town Hall at Edwards Air Force Base (RECORDED LIVE 19 MAR 2020).
The 412th Test Wing Commander, Col. Matthew Higer, announced that Edwards Air Force Base, California, will be open only to mission essential personnel and residents beginning March 20.
Edwards AFB and Plant 42 will be "mission-essential only" beginning tomorrow, Friday, 20 March 2020. All members of Team Edwards are authorized to report to work to gather teleworking provisions or personal possessions. Please consult your commander, director, or supervisor for specific mission-essential clarification.
