Maj. Christine N. Johnson is the Commander, 412th Force Support Squadron, Edwards Air Force Base, California. The Force Support Squadron is responsible for providing sustainment, military and civilian personnel, manpower, educational development, family, deployment, and morale-and-welfare functions to support mission execution of the 412th Test Wing. The 412th Force Support Squadron serves more than 10,000 military, civilian, dependents and retirees, from “cradle to grave,” while sustaining mission capabilities.
Major Johnson is also a Mortuary Officer and Survivor Care Team lead for Edwards AFB and assists families with honorably laying fallen heroes to rest. Additionally, she is responsible for all local talent management and care solutions for the installation.
Major Johnson is a recent graduate of Air Command and Staff College, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Alabama, earning a master’s degree in military operational art and science and becoming well-versed in military theory, leadership, airpower history, contemporary warfare, and joint campaigning to become a more critical thinker capable of leading diverse teams.
Additionally, Major Johnson is a 2003 graduate of Pennsylvania State University. She attended Officer Training School in 2010. She has served in several capacities as a Personnel Officer, including Flight Commander in both the Military Personnel and Sustainment Services flights, Deputy Sexual Assault Coordinator, Chief of Personnel Operations and Assignments Branch at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, and Operations Officer for the 355th Force Support Squadron. Major Johnson served a year as a Distinguished Visitor Mission Planner for the Joint Visitors’ Bureau at Headquarters, International Security Assistance Force, Kabul, Afghanistan. In addition, she deployed as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar and completed a tour as the Director of Operations, 724th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron, Nigerien Air Base 201, Agadez, Niger.
Prior to commissioning, Major Johnson served as an enlisted Public Affairs journalist. She supported strategic communications for the 9th Reconnaissance Wing and the 319th Air Base Wing. Her operational assignments as a PA journalist supported contingency operations during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
