Face coverings at the MPF, CAC/DEERS, ID cards, Commissary, BX and Shopette are mandatory!  All Civilian, Active Duty members and dependents are reminded to avoid visiting the Commissary, Base Exchange, Bldg 3000 and the Pharmacy on Wednesdays. Retirees are also being seen on Wednesdays at the CAC/DEERS office by appointment only.  Please call 661-277-4281 option 3, to make an appointment. Retirees may also utilize base facilities on Sundays.

  • Team Edwards welcomes newest mission partner

    Detachment 1, 47th Cyberspace Test Squadron, 96th Cyberspace Test Group, 96th Test Wing, was officially activated during a ceremony at Edwards Air Force Base, California, Nov. 19. The detachment provides the Air Force Test Center with a secure avionics cyber test laboratory and fields cyber test capabilities to evaluate the Air Force’s premiere weapons systems.
  • American Red Cross representatives visit Edwards AFB

    Local representatives from the American Red Cross met with members of Edwards Emergency Management during a visit to, and tour of, Edwards Air Force Base, California, Nov. 18. The 412th Test Wing hosted the visit which focused on establishing relationships between the Edwards Emergency Management personnel and local American Red Cross agencies.
  • New innovation challenge launches at Edwards

    The 412th Test Wing’s SparkED innovation team conducted a road-trip around the Edwards Air Force Base, California, to launch their new innovation challenge, Nov. 8. This year’s challenge, dubbed Eddie’s Challenge 19.2, is taking aim at innovative ways to increase work flow efficiency and also new test capabilities.
  • Goodbye Edwards, hello Nellis

    Edwards Air Force Base, California, said farewell to six of its F-35 Lightning II’s in October. The F-35s were transferred to Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, to continue initial operational testing.
  • Murderball comes to Edwards during NDEAM

    A special demonstration event for wheelchair rugby was held at the base gym at Edwards Air Force Base, Oct. 24, to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Wheelchair rugby, also known as murderball, is a team event closely resembling rugby, however it is played entirely in modified wheelchairs. The demonstration was spearheaded by Andrew Skinner, the founder of the Triumph Foundation.
  • 420th Flight Test Squadron reactivated to support B-21 Raider testing at Edwards

    The 420th Flight Test Squadron was reactivated following an assumption of command ceremony here Oct. 4. The squadron will plan, test, analyze and report on all flight and ground testing of the B-21 Raider.

    Team Edwards celebrated the Air Force's 72nd birthday by holding their annual Air Force Ball at Edwards Air Force Base, California, Sept. 14. Speakers at the event included Maj. Gen. Christopher Azzano, Air Force Test Center Commander, Brig. Gen. E. John Teichert, 412th Test Wing Commander, and guest speaker Mark Stucky, Director of Flight Test and Lead Test Pilot, Virgin Galactic.
