USET
High-pressure hydrogen, in the form of flames, is expelled from a turbopump, July 12 as part of the Upper Stage Engine Technology test series at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Propulsion Directorate, Detachment 7 at Edwards. Just one of many Edwards rocket test programs, the USET turbopump is the most recent stage of rocket testing. The testing involves developing physics-based modeling and simulation tools to design components of upper stage rocket engines. Modernized methods of design and testing will help reduce the amount of time and cost that goes into developing rocket engines. (Air Force photo by Ron Fair)
