On Sept 9, Edwards Air Force Base experienced a storm that dropped 1.5 inches of rainfall within an hour and a half, and peak winds that approached about 58 mph.

The weather event impacted many facilities on base. Base officials are working around the clock to restore power and mitigate water damage; however, the following services are affected for Friday, Sept. 10:

Club Muroc has degraded kitchen operations due to water damage. However, all club events are still scheduled as planned. The club will be open for lunch with a modified menu.

The AAFES gas station gas pumps are degraded and some pumps may be inoperable; expect delays during peak hours.

The Base Exchange and commissary were not impacted and will operate at regular hours.

Child Development Center and School Age Center will be open regular hours.

All base personnel should take caution in flooded areas.

All gates will be open as scheduled and all Edwards AFB facilities and work centers will be open for regular business; however, some facilities may have experienced some water or wind damage. Personnel can report damages to their immediate supervisor.
