Edwards AFB holds education fair Published July 22, 2019 By Giancarlo Casem 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 412th Forces Support Squadron held an Education Fair at Club Muroc on Edwards Air Force Base, California, July 23. The Education Fair was for Team Edwards members and their family members and anyone on the base to be able to speak with colleges and universities, said Vita Evans, Education Services Specialist. “This event is to provide the Edwards Air Force Base the opportunity to meet with academic institution representatives regarding degree plans offered, admission requirements, and assess whether or not they are a good fit for the students that are thinking about attending,” Evans said. “The Education Fair is an opportunity for the base population to ‘shop’ colleges and universities in a close and convenient location. Our base is very remote, so this a wonderful opportunity for those who may not have the time to visit each college or university of interest.” Representatives from more than 50 academic institutions were present and ranged from technical schools to Ivy League Universities. Because of Edwards’ remote location, Evans said the opportunity to speak to school representatives was important. “Edwards is a remote location, for representatives to come to our base is a rare opportunity for the Edwards AFB population,” she said.
