YF-22 COMES HOME TO ROOST

Fourteen of the 22 Airman who were hands-on in the process of bringing the first YF-22 Raptor prototype built, pose in front of the aircraft with Mr. David Ferguson (blue shirt), first Raptor test pilot, Mr. Tom Morgenfeld (tan shirt), last Raptor test pilot and Mr. Fredrick Johnsen (white shirt), Air Force Flight Test Center Museum director, that were instrumental in bringing back to Edwards, its flight-test home.

Edwards celebrates Global Hawk's 10-year birthday

The Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle lands here Feb. 28 after an eight-hour mission. The flight marked the 10th anniversary of the Global Hawk's first flight where the aircraft flew for one hour and reached an altitude of 32,000 feet above Edwards skies. Buff in the rough

Volunteers move the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum's B-52 to the North Gate on Oct. 1. Maintainers from 912th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron towed the aircraft from the museum's maintenance hangar at North Base. Personnel from the 95th Civil Engineering and Transportation Directorate provided the expertise and equipment to move the static display almost half a mile across the desert on a tow road they had previously graded. Future improvements to the display area will include a small parking lot, walkways, signage and concrete pads under the landing gear. (Photo by Doug Nelson)
