About the 412th Mission Support Group

The Mission Support Group delivers combat and test-enabling mission support to over 11,000 personnel assigned to Edwards Air Force Base, the 412th Test Wing, the Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA’s Flight Research Facility and 50 associate units on an installation spanning 308,000 acres.

The 412th Communications Squadron operates and defends Edwards’ cyberspace domain and is responsible for full-spectrum capabilities to enable weapons system testing, evaluation and development in order to deliver war-winning capability to our nation’s combat air forces.

The group’s 412th Force Support Squadron enables the human warfighter, providing exceptional personnel and manpower administration, as well as morale, welfare and recreation support programs and services for the entire Edwards’ community. 

The 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron integrates transportation, fuel, supply and logistics planning to provide world-class customer support to the Edwards’ mission.

The group’s 412th Security Forces Squadron provides integrated base defense and force protection for all Edwards’ personnel and missions, while simultaneously preparing and deploying defenders in support of worldwide contingencies and combat operations. Additionally, the Combat Arms Section of the 412th Security Forces Squadron equips not only 412 TW Airmen but LAAFB, Plant 42, March ARB, Miramar, six Army Units, DCIS and NASA with cutting-edge, innovative marksmanship skills to enhance our nation’s warfighting capabilities year-round. 

The 412th Mission Support Group also serves as the base liaison to the local school district, Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Defense Commissary Agency.

412th Test Wing MSG Leadership

Senior Master Sergeant Tanya D. Sipos

Senior Master Sgt. Tanya D. Sipos is the Senior Enlisted Leader at the 412th Force Support Squadron, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Test Wing, Edwards Air Force Base, California.

In this position, she serves as the principal enlisted advisor to the squadron commander on issues affecting 468 Airmen and civilian employees across 9 flights, executing a $9 million portfolio. The squadron provides a myriad of base and personnel support programs enabling key missions for the Air Force Test Center, 412th Test Wing, 33 mission partners and 29 Operating Locations. The squadron enables a world-premiere test & evaluation mission by providing exceptional support to 19,500 active duty, reserve, civil service, defense industrial base contractors, families, and retirees annually. Senior Sipos also oversees the Air Force’s 5th busiest Honor Guard program. The Blue Eagles Honor Guard consists of 42 Total Force Integrated Honor Guardsmen supporting a 52,000 square mile area of responsibility across 7 Congressional districts.

Senior Master Sgt. Sipos entered the Air Force in July 2008 post graduating from Berea High School, Berea Ohio. She completed technical training in October 2008 and has held various leadership positions at unit, base, and headquarters level including a joint assignment to the Joint Special Operations Command. Senior Master Sgt. Sipos took part in multiple training exercises including BLUE FLAG, where she was the sole DCAPES Operator supporting casualty operations and accountability. Prior to assuming her current position, she served as the Section Chief for Force Management, 412th Force Support Squadron, Edwards Air Force Base, California

Senior Sipos has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN.
