About the 412th Mission Support Group

The Mission Support Group delivers combat and test-enabling mission support to over 11,000 personnel assigned to Edwards Air Force Base, the 412th Test Wing, the Air Force Research Laboratory, NASA’s Flight Research Facility and 50 associate units on an installation spanning 308,000 acres.

The 412th Communications Squadron operates and defends Edwards’ cyberspace domain and is responsible for full-spectrum capabilities to enable weapons system testing, evaluation and development in order to deliver war-winning capability to our nation’s combat air forces.

The group’s 412th Force Support Squadron enables the human warfighter, providing exceptional personnel and manpower administration, as well as morale, welfare and recreation support programs and services for the entire Edwards’ community. 

The 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron integrates transportation, fuel, supply and logistics planning to provide world-class customer support to the Edwards’ mission.

The group’s 412th Security Forces Squadron provides integrated base defense and force protection for all Edwards’ personnel and missions, while simultaneously preparing and deploying defenders in support of worldwide contingencies and combat operations. Additionally, the Combat Arms Section of the 412th Security Forces Squadron equips not only 412 TW Airmen but LAAFB, Plant 42, March ARB, Miramar, six Army Units, DCIS and NASA with cutting-edge, innovative marksmanship skills to enhance our nation’s warfighting capabilities year-round. 

The 412th Mission Support Group also serves as the base liaison to the local school district, Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Defense Commissary Agency.

Daniel Stevenson Jr.

Daniel Stevenson Jr. is the senior technical director for the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, California. In this executive leadership role, he serves as the principal technical advisor on the development, test, and evaluation of next-generation aerospace systems, ensuring the lethality and survivability of warfighting capabilities across the Air Force.

Stevenson began his civil service career with the Air Force in November 2005 as an electronics engineer in the 775th Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, California. He initially supported F-16 test programs as a tactical data links and communications lead engineer at the Global Power Fighter Combined Test Force before joining the Global Power Bomber CTF where he oversaw communications and data link upgrades for the B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, and B-52 Stratofortress aircraft.

After earning his Master of Science in Engineering Management from California State University, Northridge in 2015, Stevenson joined the F-35 Integrated Test Force as the interoperability lead before being selected as a flight chief in the 775th Test Squadron. In 2018, Stevenson was appointed chief engineer of the F-35 ITF, leading the team's integration of the automatic ground collision avoidance system, which was awarded the Collier Trophy.

In 2019, Stevenson was selected as director of the 775th Test Squadron where he oversaw avionics and weapon integration across the 412th Test Wing. In June 2022, he joined the Space Force’s Space Systems Command as the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing chief developmental tester and Test and Evaluation branch chief. Prior to his current appointment in July 2026, Stevenson was the PNT Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test director for the newly established Systems Delta 831, Space Systems Command, Space Force, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California.
