Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Reedy, 71st Special Operations Squadron senior enlisted leader, prepares for a CV-22 Osprey training sortie May 10, 2023, at Kirtland Air Force, N.M. Reedy received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroic role in a rescue mission of an American hostage in Africa in October 2020. The successful operation was the longest distance hostage rescue conducted during night in the Department of Defense history and was completed within 48 hours of their initial notification.
