Beale Lake project

The Air Force, in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other partners, pump water out of Beale Lake at Beale Air Force Base, California, in preparation for dam removal. The project, completed in late 2020, restores the natural flow of the creek there and makes it easier for threatened fish to travel upstream and spawn. (Courtesy photo)
