704th Test Group successfully leading Directed Energy Experimentation Campaign
The directed energy system emits an adjustable energy beam that, when aimed at airborne targets such as drones, renders them unable to fly. During the October 2018 experimentation event at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, this system used high power microwave to disrupt and destroy small unmanned aerial systems. The 704th Test Group Directed Energy Combined Test Force supported the event as part of the Directed Energy Experimentation Campaign. (U.S. Army photo by Monica K. Guthrie)
