Fueling the SOF human weapon system
Lindsey Pfau is a performance dietician with the 720th Special Tactics Group at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Pfau, working with personnel from the U.S. Special Operations Command Deployment Cell, adjusted the food served during Emerald Warrior 18 from standard dining facility fare to foods focused on fueling the special tactics operators, fueling them to perform their best in the field. The changes included a focus on using less saturated fats, more fresh fruit and vegetables, and larger servings to accommodate the up to 4,000 calories an ST operator could burn through in a day.
