During the final phase of the Vehicle Integrated Propulsion Research (VIPR) project, the VIPR team, comprised of NASA, the U.S. Air Force and multiple agencies and companies, will rely on multiple sensors located throughout the engine in order to identify and diagnose potential engine faults issues.
