Biomedical Services Corps

Biomedical Sciences Corps technicians Airman Juan Bonilla and Airman 1st Class Dane Carder use equipment designed to detect alpha radiation. Bonilla must remove a filter from a sampling device, to allow Carder to take radiation readings. While there is radiation everywhere, background readings are helpful in determining if an incident has added radiation to the environment. The readings can be used to determine public safeguards and employee protection to operate safely in the environment. (U.S. Air Force photo by Ethan Wagner)
