‘If these walls could talk’ - 412th CE, AFFT Museum work to save historic wall
Demolition crews can be seen in front of Muroc Manor, which was the original home of the commanding general of Muroc Army Airfield. The building was constructed in 1943 and is important because it served as the social hub for the base and played host to aviation pioneers and the Hollywood elite during the golden age of flight test at Edwards. Due to the time the building spent unused and weather beaten by the elements, the building was scheduled to be demolished. (U.S. Air Force photo by Jet Fabara)
