Transcendence of Tragedy
Staff Sgt. Ronald Ball joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard at 47 years old after a successful career with the Philadelphia Police Department. In 2012, Ball returned to military service as an Airman after being out of the Army for 18 years. He initially was honorably discharged from the Army to care for his children after the murder of his wife. Ball is with the 111th Security Forces Squadron at Horsham Air Base, Willow Grove, Penn.
