Earth Day 2010

Col. Jerry Gandy, 95th Air Base Wing commander, assisted by first graders from Branch Elementary School, shoveled dirt on the roots of the Modesto Ash that was planted in celebration of Arbor Day, April 30. Colonel Gandy explained to the children that the reason a Modesto Ash was selected was because it required little water, which is a good thing in our environment, and that it is a fast grower.
