Under cloudy skies and brisk winds, a croud of approximately 200 Joint Strike Fighter project members, family members and visitors gathered as two F-35A Lightning II stealth Joint Strike Fighters arrived at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., the afternoon of May 17. The two F-35s will call Edwards their home and be joined by other F-35s in the future. Here, AF-02, piloted by Mr. John Beasley, Lockhead-Martin chief test pilot, touches down on Runway 22 Left at Edwards. The two aircraft are assigned to 412th Flight Test Wing, 461st Flight Test Squadron. (Official U.S. Air Force photograph)
