Intelligence gathered during SR-71 reconnaissance missions throughout the Cold War provided the U.S. government with key information at critical moments. An SR-71, such as this one, will be on display with April 21 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale, Calif. during an event commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the first flight of the Lockheed A-12 Interceptor.
