Team tests pod at 'LITENING' speed

A LITENING pod, like the dark grey cylinder attached to the bottom of this F-16's fuselage, is an operational precision targeting pod system used with a wide variety of combat air forces aircraft. Edwards began accelerated testing of a LITENING-AT targeting pod here March 17, 2006. The LITENING-AT test will update the existing LITENING pod with several new capabilities, including a video downlink transmitter currently used in the Predator Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.
