Feds Feed Families in full swing at Edwards Published Aug. 10, 2016 By Kenji Thuloweit 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Edwards is currently participating in the Feds Feed Families Food Drive. This is a DOD-wide event. All of the food collected will be distributed to the local food banks in the Antelope Valley. According to organizers, Edwards is currently leading the entire DOD in donated food and wants to continue this level of excellence. The food drive ends Aug. 31. Every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., all collection POCs bring food to the back of the Commissary to get weighed. Afterwards, the food will be taken to the food banks. Two major wing-wide events are coming up. There will be the Car Wash Food Drive Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the High Desert Lanes Bowling Center parking lot. Donate a bag of canned food or non-perishable food items and receive a car wash. The following event will be the Feds Feed Family Day Aug. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arnold Park. There will be wet and dry bounce houses for children, food, music and more. Donations will be accepted as well. Come out and have fun while helping those in need in the local community.
