Robert Hoover visits Edwards Published Oct. 23, 2013 By 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Students from the United States Air Force Test Pilot School's Class 13A present their class patch to Robert "Bob" Hoover Oct. 18 during the filming of a documentary based on his life as a former USAF test pilot at Edwards. Hoover is a former WWII fighter pilot and prisoner of war, air show performer and test pilot who flew the chase plane while Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier on the Bell X-1, October 14, 1947.
