412th FSS hosts Fall Festival celebration Published Oct. 30, 2013 By Christy M. McCoy 412th Force Support Squadron EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 412th Force Support Squadron's Child Development Center and Family Child Care separately hosted their annual Fall Festival, for children that are enrolled in their Edwards Air Force Base programs Oct. 24 and 25. The festivities included cupcake walks, festive photo displays, exploring the anatomy of pumpkins, illustrating fall scenes and many children's games. The Family Advocacy Board, in conjunction with discounts and donations from the Edwards AFB Commissary and Coast Produce, assisted in providing this year's pumpkins and hay bales. Children eagerly guided their parents around to each activity station and this became a time for Edwards Air Force Base families to gather and interact with their children. This celebration allows individuals within this community to explore with their children, all while developing an appreciation for how the 412th Test Wing executes its mission, through the support of valuable child development programs being offered at Edwards. "Those who participated in the Fall Festival have certainly contributed to maintaining and enhancing our military community. A special thanks to those who coordinated on efforts in making this a momentous occasion for all the children that were involved," said Lesley Smith, 412th FSS Airman & Family Services Flight chief.
