The Desert Junior Senior High School girls volleyball team recently finished their season as Desert Mountain League Tri-Champions along with Desert Christian and Mammoth High Schools, and surpassed their season with a final league record of 12-2.

The team played their final game against Pomona Catholic High School Nov. 16 during the California Interscholastic Federation Quarter Finals where they fell after 3 sets.

"Desert hasn't made it to the quarter finals since 1990, so this was an exciting accomplishment," said Debbie Lewis, varsity DHS girls volleyball coach. "Although we didn't make it through to the finals, we will return with six sophomores and two juniors, so next year looks promising, but nevertheless, we will surely miss our seniors."

The team finished with an overall record of 18-5.
