Big Game' savings available at Edwards Commissary

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  Six of the Defense Commissary Agency's top-15 sales days of the 21st century have been the Saturday before the NFL's Super Bowl Sunday. It's not lost on DeCA officials that many football fans in the military venture to their commissary to stock up for their own "Big Game" events.

"You can argue that the Super Bowl is the biggest single-day sporting event for Americans," said Randy Chandler, DeCA's sales director. "Whatever event you're hosting on this year's Super Sunday, your local commissary offers the greatest savings for party snacks, beverage mixers and fresh U.S. Department of Agriculture Grade-A Choice beef."

The Super Bowl is Feb. 2, and leading up to that day, commissary shoppers can expect to see football-related Manager's Specials and club packs throughout the stores, offering discounts on select products for the big game. Overseas stores may have substitute events for certain promotions. Customers are asked to check their local commissary for details on dates and times of the following promotions:

· On the DeCA website, www.commissaries.com, patrons can also see online deals on the Exclusive Savings page, where discounts eclipse the average savings of 30 percent or more on everyday commissary products. Available only through the website, Exclusive Savings gives customers access to coupons, discounts and promotions provided by DeCA's vendors and industry partners. The "What's On Sale" section has even more information about what's on sale at your local commissary.

· Special big game savings are available through a special Kraft promotion from Jan. 23 to Feb. 5. Stateside commissaries will receive nearly 600,000 coupon flyers worth more than $1.2 million in savings. The Kraft Foods Group is giving away one 42-inch, flat-screen television every week via www.mymilitarysavings.com leading up to Feb. 2. Go to www.commissaries.com,click on the Exclusive Savings photo in the bottom left hand corner of the homepage and select the Kraft link on the landing page.

· The Commissary Rewards Card is offering more giveaways and high-value coupons that help shoppers save more on products they want. Cardholders go online to select among more than 100 new coupons available this month, plus more coupons are added every two weeks. For more information, go to www.commissaries.com/rewards.

· "Win with Dinner Event." Through Feb. 6, ConAgra Foods is offering more than $7 in coupon savings through its "Win with Dinner Recipe" booklet. Additional savings can be found on the Commissary Rewards Card and on ConAgra Foods military website, www.conagracommissarydeals.com. This event will also raise awareness and money for the Fisher House™ Scholarship for Military Children Program.
