Corvias Military Living upgrading homes at Edwards Published April 22, 2014 By Edwards AFB Housing Office EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Through its partnership with the Air Force, Corvias Military Living will soon begin renovating homes on Edwards Air Force Base. The work will begin later this month as part of the plan to modernize and improve the quality of life for family housing residents at Edwards. Corvias will eventually renovate 70 percent of the homes on base. The first renovations are scheduled for the homes in Acacia Hills, Mesquite Meadows, Palo Verde and Tamarisk Plains. The renovations will include multiple upgrades to each home's amenities such as; upgraded light fixtures, flooring, landscaping, repairs to or replacement of appliances and much more. Corvias will strive to minimize the impact on residents by scheduling the home renovations after the resident departs Edwards AFB and the home is vacant. Corvias will also expedite the renovations to reduce noise and traffic from work sites in each neighborhood. Corvias plans to complete the renovation project by 2019. Corvias is currently approved to renovate 522 of the 741 existing homes. The homes not scheduled for renovation include all of Mountain View and 58 homes on the east side of Joshua Acres. Edwards Housing Management Office and Civil Engineering upgraded those homes in 2013. "Corvias is very appreciative of the efforts of the Edwards housing team in preparing these homes for Airmen and their families," said J.C. Calder, Corvias Program Manager. "The homes not included in the renovations are in great condition." A new community center is also part of the renovation plan. The facility is scheduled to open summer of 2015 and will include workout facilities, indoor basketball court, rooms for parties or events and an outdoor pool.
