Last week, U.S. Congressman Kevin McCarthy, 23rd District of California, congratulated service academy cadets from his district that will be graduating from their respective schools. McCarthy nominated each cadet for attendence.

2nd Lt. Alexis "Alex" Wilson is graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 28, with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Area Studies with a minor in Japanese. He is a graduate of Desert Senior Junior High School at Edwards AFB. He will be attending pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas, next February.

"It has been a source of great pride to watch these individuals grow and develop into strong young officers these past four years through the benefits of a military education," said McCarthy. "I commend them for their commitment to service, and look forward to seeing what they accomplish as they lead our armed services into the future."

McCarthy's district serves Kern, Tulare, and Los Angeles counties.
