Team Edwards says goodbye to long-time human resource supervisor Published June 30, 2014 By 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- After 34 years, Team Edwards watched Ruby J. Ervin walk into the sunset as she retired June 27. The retirement ceremony was held at Club Muroc. Ervin was chief of staffing and led a seven person team that provided recruitment and placement services and support to the 412th Test Wing, associate and tenant units, and geographically separated units serviced by the Edwards Civilian Personnel Office. The total service population includes approximately 3500 civilian employees assigned to three personnel systems. Her team processed over 3600 personnel actions annually, which included management oversight of eight major Reduction-in-Force and associated activities. Ervin began working at Edwards in 1980 as an office support manager at the Commissary and later became a wing human resource asssitant in 1983. She then headed to England for four years and returned to Edwards in 1988 as a supervisory human resource specialist and remained here until her retirement.
