412th MXG welcomes new commander, out-going commander retires Published July 14, 2014 By Rebecca Amber Staff writer EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 412th Maintenance Group welcomed a new commander, Col. Robert Lepper, in a ceremony at Hangar 1600, July 10. In his previous assignment, Lepper was the commander of the 309th Aerosapce Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. While there, he led a workforce of more than 700 individuals in aerospace storage and preservation, aircraft parts reclamation, aircraft regeneration, depot-level maintenance overflow and aircraft disposal. Lepper will now lead a workforce of 1,900 Airmen - both civilian and miitary. He will also manage 69 aircraft, 14 design-series and 19 engine types. The outgoing 412th MXG commander, Col. Robert Weaver retired the same day after a 25-year career in the Air Force.
