School's back from summer

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  As summer turns to fall, the Edwards community prepares to go back to school.

Registration for Desert Jr.-Sr. High School and Branch Elementary school has begun and is done by appointment only.

Students at DHS will register for their classes through the counselor's office. The DHS phone number is (661) 258-4411, ext. 100.

New student orientation will be Aug. 11 at 10:30 a.m.

Students at Branch Elementary will be able to access their class schedules online Aug. 15.

The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 18.


Important Dates for Desert Junior-Senior High School

Aug. 11 - New Student Orientation, 8:30 a.m. for junior high and 9:30 a.m. for high school

Aug. 18 - School starts, 7:50 a.m. to 2:58 p.m.

Aug. 25 - Student/Senior Pictures

Aug. 26  - Back to School Night, 5 p.m. to 7
