Local NCO honored by Dodgers Published Sept. 23, 2014 By Kenji Thuloweit LOS ANGELES -- Tech. Sgt. Robert Sumner, a DOD police officer at U.S. Air Force Plant 42, and an individualized mobilization augmentee with the 412 Security Forces Squadron since 2006, was honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers during a game against the New York Mets Aug. 23. The Dodgers honor active duty and retired military members at every home game by treating them and their families to Field level tickets, watching batting practice on the field, and being honored on the field during pregame ceremonies. "I applied via written letter to the Dodgers Community Relations Office and received a phone call a couple of weeks later that I had been selected," said Sumner. Currently a resident of Palmdale, California, Sumner enlisted in 1983 and is a reservist currently serving with the 412th Security Forces Squadron based at Edwards.
