Outdoor Recreation is ready for all your winter adventures. With ski packages, snowboarding packages and sleds, they have everything but the snow - and they can still get you to the slopes.

"We run shuttles where you pay for the gear and then we actually drive you up there in our 15 passenger van," said Brian Brazelton, recreation assistant.

Ski packages include ski boots, a helmet, poles and gloves. Snowboard packages come with the board, bindings, a helmet and gloves. The facility also offers ski clothing rentals, priced separately from the package rates.

"A lot of our customers are beginners. We'll give them very basic instructions on how to fit into the gear, how to wear the gear and things of that sort," said Brazelton. "We have a lot of customers that have never been to the mountains."

For those planning a one-day trip, the "3 p.m. Special" will save both time and money. With this deal, equipment can picked up any day of the week after 3 p.m., used the second day and returned before noon on the third day with only a one day charge.

This year, ODR is planning shuttle trips to Mountain High, Big Bear and Mammoth.

"We're saving the Airmen money, especially the single Airman; were saving them a lot of money. They can load up here and then when they get to the mountain they are actually saving time. A lot of it is the convenience of the time and money that you're saving," Brazelton said.

For those who regularly hit the slopes, ODR offers minor ski repairs such as waxing, sharpening the edges or scratch repair. They also keep a daily snow report posted in the store.
