Upcoming classes at Edwards Family Advocacy

Edwards AFB Family Advocacy has several classes available to help members of Team Edwards and their families. Below is a list of classes available in the next month.

Relaxation 101

This training will add "tools to your toolbox" to enhance your ability to relax and identify when you are stressed!  This training is a three-part seminar, one and a half hours each.  This class will be held at Bldg. 5513, Family Advocacy Program Office. Classes are being held May 11, 18 and June 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

P.R.E.P. (Couple's Relationship Enhancement Workshop)

This six-week workshop is intended to address issues such as negotiating and resolving conflict, power struggles, communication challenges and trust issues. Whether your relationship is need of some "fine tuning" or a major overhaul, this workshop is sure to enhance your understanding of your partner and the way you relate to one another.  This class is being held in Chapel 2 May 5, 12, 19, 26, June 2 and 9. Class times are from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30.

Parenting of Teens (Ages 11-17)

This class is intended to help participants use humor, hope and empathy to build adult to teen relationships, provide boundaries and limits in a loving way and teach consequences and healthy decision making.  This class is six sessions at the Chapel 2 Conference Room. Classes will be held May 6, 13, and 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

New Pregnancy Orientation 

This is a class for all expectant mothers to navigate their way through pregnancy. Participants will get information on the New Parent Support Program, how to register their baby in Tricare, good nutrition tips, safety exercises, the importance of good dental care and information on how to have a safe pregnancy. This one-session class is being held at Bldg. 5513, the Family Advocacy Program Office. Class are May 7 and 21 from 9:30 a.m to 11:30. All participants are encouraged to contact Family Advocacy nurse, Bridgett Amis, at 661- 277-5292 for any questions and to register for the class.  Dads are always welcome to attend!
 
Anger Management

This training is for anyone who would like to better understand anger or who struggles with other's (or their own) emotions at times. This is a four-part seminar, each class being two hours each.  Training sessions will be held at Family Advocacy from 8: a.m. to 10. Dates are May 8, 15, 29 and June 12.
