412th Logistics Readiness Squadron welcomes new leader Published April 30, 2015 By Rebecca Amber Staff writer EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 412th Logistics Readiness Squadron welcomed a new director April 29 during an appointment to leadership ceremony at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Michael Sears Jr. comes to Edwards AFB from Yokota Air Base, Japan, where he served as deputy commander for the 374th Logistics Readiness Squadron. The presiding officer for the ceremony was Col. Eric Leshinsky, 412th Mission Support Group commander. The squadron provides supplies, equipment and fuels to the 412th Test Wing, Air Force Test Center, Air Force Research Laboratory Detachment 7, NASA and more than 50 associate units. Specifically, 412th LRS provides logistical support related to supplies and equipment, vehicle operations, vehicle maintenance, traffic management, deployment planning and operations, fuels and logistics plans. They receive, inspect, issue and deliver parts and supplies required for aircraft and base support. The squadron also receives, stores, delivers and maintains accountability of aircraft fuel, ground fuels, MOGAS and diesel. Transportation services maintains the base vehicle fleet, which provides vehicular transportation to support throughout the base.
