The 412th Security Forces Squadron Combat Arms Section and military working dog unit were featured at the Exchange May 5 in honor of National Police Week. The K-9 unit displayed equipment used with military working dogs such as a bite suit top, grooming tools and special gear for the dogs like goggles and booties. At the combat arms table, there were several unloaded weapons including machine guns, a rifle and a pistol for people to see up close. National Police Week is observed at Edwards this year from May 5 to 12. A multi-agency End of Watch Ceremony for Kern County will be held May 11 at the Peace Officer Memorial at the Kern County Sheriff's headquarters, 1350 Norris Rd., Bakersfield. Time is 10 a.m. The event is open to the public.
