P.R.E.P. (Couple's Relationship Enhancement Workshop)

This six-week workshop is intended to address issues such as negotiating and resolving conflict, power struggles, communication challenges, and trust issues. Whether your relationship is need of some "fine tuning" or a major overhaul, this workshop is sure to enhance your understanding of your partner and the way you relate to one another. This class is being held in Chapel 2.  June will complete class 5 and 6 in the series of 6 classes. The next P.R.E.P. class will begin in August.

Bundles for Babies 

New (or new again) parents are invited to hear information on financial education and healthy pregnancy. Layettes valued at more than $65 are provided by the Air Force Aid Society plus more freebies. There will be presentations by the Airman and Family Readiness Center staff and the Family Advocacy nurse. This workshop is held at the AFRC and is open to all branches of military services. This class is held quarterly and is being offered June 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

New Dads 101

This class is for first time or expectant dads as well as dads who already have children. The class will address the basics about being a dad, from what to expect during pregnancy and delivery, diapering a baby and soothing a crying baby, to entering your baby in the local healthcare system. All taught by an experienced dad and subject matter experts. This is a must for all new or prospective dads! This three-class series will be held on Wednesdays, June 10, 17 and 24, at the Family Advocacy Office (Bldg. 5513) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New Pregnancy Orientation

This is a class for all expectant mothers to navigate their way through pregnancy. Participants will get information on the New Parent Support Program, how to register their baby in Tricare, good nutrition tips, safety exercises and information on how to have a safe pregnancy. This one session class is being held at Family Advocacy Program Office. All participants are encouraged to contact Family Advocacy nurse, Bridgett Amis, at 661- 277-5292 for any questions and to register for the class. Dads are always welcome to attend! This class is being held June 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Parenting with Love & Logic (Ages 2-10) 

Parents will learn a variety of useful skills and tips including how to get their children to stop with tantrums and start behaving. If you are the parent of a 2 to 10 year old, this class is for you!  The class is a six-part series which begins on June 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is being held in the Chapel 2 conference room.

Childcare is available but must be coordinated in advance of class. Please call Family Advocacy at 661-277-5292 to arrange for childcare.

Family members, civilians and contractors and their family members are authorized to attend and always welcome!
