DHS robotics teams seeking volunteers Published June 1, 2015 By Rebecca Amber Staff writer EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Desert High School Robotics program held an open house to recruit new members and volunteers May 27 at the Center of Excellence. Both teams are seeking mentors to volunteer for the FIRST Robotics program in time for the 2015-2016 FIRST Tech Challenge season. The teams need mentors with a wide variety of skills and knowledge including, but not limited to, science, technology, engineering, business, graphic design and communications. The teams are open to students in grades 7-12 at DHS. Varsity team 7227 Scorpion Robotics and JV team 9074 Scorpiobotics have both brought home awards for demonstrating exceptional coding prowess and innovative use of sensors.
