412th AMDS gets new top doc

Maj. (Dr.) Angela M. Albrecht took the reins of the 412th Aerospace Medicine Squadron during a change of command ceremony held at Club Muroc July 9. As commander, Albrecht is responsible for advancing the 412th Test Wing's mission through comprehensive aeromedical, bioenvironmental, dental, health promotion, occupational, optometry, public health and aircrew performance services. The 412th AMDS operates outpatient clinics supporting 12,500 personnel, operational research, developmental test and evaluation of air and space systems. She is responsible for the health and safety of eight flying units, 189 industrial shops, 54 food and sanitation facilities, and executes preventive health functions to ensure medical readiness for global expeditionary operations. The 412th AMDS also supports Edwards AFB's disaster response through public health emergency management.

Albrecht replaces Lt. Col. Patricia MacSparran who has held command for the past two years.
