Outdoor Recreation provides tools and excursions for every season of the year, from camping, snowboarding and surfing, to parasailing, indoor skydiving and much more.  As a resource to the base, ODR provides coolers, tents, chairs, fishing poles and other camping equipment.

"We've got just about anything you could imagine you would need," says recreation assistant Brian Brazelton.

With such a variety of resources, ODR provides the materials for the customized interest of the individual or group. In stock, they have equipment for watersports such as surfing and paddle boarding, and winter sports like snowboarding and skiing.

Along with the equipment they offer, ODR puts on trips to various journeys in the area.

The trips they offer include a zip line adventure next month, Aug. 15th; an indoor skydiving trip a week later on the 22nd. ODR is also offering a kayaking excursion Aug. 29; parasailing Sept. 5; and deep sea fishing Sept. 12. Many of these trips are a part of the Single Airman Program as an opportunity for airmen to have fun and create connections. However, the trips are open to everyone with base access upon availabitlity.

According to Brazelton, "Our trips are something more people should take advantage of."

For more information call ODR at 661-275-2267 (CAMP) or visit them at 1100 Kincheloe Ave. in Bldg. 7211. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They're also open on the weekends - Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
