The New Pregnancy Orientation (OBO) & Dads4Dads Class 1 will take place August 6, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 in the Family Advocacy conference room at Bldg. 5513. This one session class will help all expectant parents to navigate their way through pregnancy. Participants will get information on the New Parent Support Program, steps to enroll their baby for benefits, nutrition, safety exercises, the importance of good dental care and information on how to have a safe pregnancy. This class also serves as Class 1 for the Dads4Dads class. All dads are highly encouraged to attend! This class is offered the first and third Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Family Advocacy conference room.

Dads4Dads Class 2 will be August 27; First Sergeant Dyjuan Washington will be leading this discussion for first-time dads as well as dads who already have children. The class will address the basics about being a dad - from what to expect during pregnancy and delivery, diapering a baby, soothing a crying baby to how to support your partner- all taught by an experienced dad. This is a must for all new or prospective dads. The class is the second in a three part series. 

Daddy Boot Camp Class 2 is offered every fourth Thursday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Family Advocacy conference room. Class 3 will be held once a quarter--the 2nd Thursday of the last, third month in the quarter--and is for dads whose baby is already home. The next Class 3 will be held on September 10 from 9:30am-11:30am in the Family Advocacy conference room. 

P.R.E.P.  Couple's Relationship Enhancement Workshop begins Aug. 11 from 2:30 p.m. 4:30 p.m. at the Chapel 2 conference room. The six-week workshop is intended to address issues such as negotiating and resolving conflict, power struggles, communication challenges, and trust issues. Whether your relationship is in need of some fine tuning or a major overhaul, this workshop is sure to enhance your understanding of your partner and the way you relate to one another. Classes will be held Aug. 11, 18, 25 and Sept. 1, 8, and 15.   

Managing Angry Feelings begins Aug. 10. This training is for anyone who would like to better understand anger or who struggles with other's, or their own, emotions at times. This training is a four-part seminar, each class being two hours each. Classes will be held Aug. 10, 14, 17 and 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Family Advocacy conference room. 

Managing Your Stress Like a Navy SEAL is set to take place Aug. 12, 10 a.m. to 11:30am. This training will utilize the same techniques used by the Navy SEALs to reduce their stress. Come find out what it is like to really relax! The training is a three-part seminar, one-and-a-half hours each session. Additional classes will be held Aug. 19 and Sept. 2. Classes will be held at Bldg. 5513 in the Family Advocacy Program office.

Childcare is available and fees are based on family income. Please call 661-277-5292 in advance to make arrangements, for more details, or to register for a class. All classes are open to active duty members, and are authorized for civilian and contract employees and all family members.
