Notice of vacancy for Muroc Board of Trustees seat

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Muroc Joint Unified School District is accepting applications for a Muroc Board of Trustees seat.

The board decided to fill the vacancy by making a provisional appointment and the individual selected will serve until Dec. 8, 2016. An election will be held Nov. 8, 2016 to fill this position for the next four-year term.

Applications are now being accepted from any qualified person interested in filling this vacancy.

Interested persons should obtain an application from the Muroc Joint Unified School District office, 17100 Foothill Ave., North Edwards, California, or online at www.muroc.k12.ca.us by clicking on the "School Board" link.

Completed applications must be returned to the MJUSD office no later than 4 p.m., Oct. 1, 2015. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

**Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
**Applicant must be registered to vote within the Muroc Joint Unified School District, Kern County, California.
**Applicant must be a resident of the Muroc Joint Unified School District, and must currently reside on Edwards Air Force Base.
