Job description and its impact on the overall mission:  I coordinate travel and logistical support for all deploying members from Edwards Air Force Base, to include the tenant organizations.

Time in the military:  I have been in the Air Force for four and a half years.

Time at Edwards AFB:  I have been at Edwards Air Force Base for about a year.

Family:  I have a beautiful wife, Elaine.

Hometown:  Hagerstown, Maryland

Hobbies:  My hobbies include playing video games, football, hiking, weight lifting, reading and hunting.

Why did you join the military?  I joined the military because of the time-honored tradition in my family. My father, grandfather, four uncles, two great uncles and two cousins have all proudly served. I also joined for the life experiences I knew it would bring.

Where do you see yourself in 10 or 20 years?  I'm really not sure at this point where I see myself that far down the road.

What do you do for fun here?  The things I do for fun here primarily include my hobbies of playing video games, football, hiking, weight lifting, reading and hunting.

What's your favorite Air Force memory or story?  My favorite Air Force memory was the three weeks I spent on leave in Okinawa with my then girlfriend, Elaine. It was my first opportunity to really explore the island and spend time with Elaine on an incredible vacation.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?  I am very proud of always being one of the best transporters in my work center.

Who is your role model?  My dad has always stood out as my role model. He was a former Navy officer and raised me with a military mindset from a very early age with a strong emphasis on being a gentleman.

How does your job help support the test and evaluation mission here at Edwards?  My job supports the mission at Edwards by ensuring our deploying personnel are ready to go and the base cargo function is prepared for global contingency operations at any given time.

What is your dream job and why?  My dream job is anything that gives me a sense of fulfillment while allowing me to support my family.

What do you like most about Edwards?  What I like most about Edwards is the weather; particularly that most of the time it's not humid. Also, there are a plethora of great hiking trails in Tehachapi.

What distinguishes Staff Sgt. Chilcoat from his peers? (answer provided by his supervisor, Tech. Sgt. Kenneth Bracely) "Staff Sgt. Chilcoat has the most positive, can-do attitude when it comes to being a team player. Since arriving at Edwards he has been given numerous duties outside of his career field and he has championed all of them. He understands the concept of mission and knows how to get it done!"
