Carl Schaefer 412th Test Wing commander EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team, This weekend marks the 240th anniversary of our nation's independence. It is a weekend to remember the declaration that delineates our freedom, to celebrate the birth of the American principles and to be thankful for every soul sacrificed in its defense. We keep the promise made in America's most sacred document that, "We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." Let us not forget the principles of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" bestowed to the free people by our founding fathers. I thank all of you - Airman, civilian and contractor. Your hard work reflects the commitment to this promise and your dedication to preserve the principles that have sustained our great nation since its founding. I salute all of you warriors who so skillfully carry out the Edwards AFB mission. From the American Revolution to present day, our military continues to protect America's freedom and we do it here by providing the most advanced and lethal aircraft and weapons systems to the warfighter. Whether it's watching fireworks, barbeques, or parades, celebrate America's freedom with family and friends - you deserve it. Have a fun and safe Fourth of July weekend!
