The Operational Readiness Exercise on Monday through June 22 could cause persons entering the gates major traffic delay. Employees of the base are reminded to allow extra time to get to work and all motorists should be vigilant for slow moving or stopped traffic as they approach entry gates.

Temporary gate closures can happen at any time of the day or night. Closures are exercise-event driven and they are not limited to the number that can take place in a day.

Customers of the Commissary, Base Exchange, various service outlets and those with routine business at the base clinic may also face temporary closure or curtailment of normal services.

The base's legal assistance office is limiting its notary and other services to only those customers having valid emergencies. Those who might require legal assistance should call (661) 277-4310 extension 0, before coming to the base.

All persons entering Edwards should have two forms of identification out of their wallets and immediately available to show to gate guards. Motorists should also be sure their driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance are current.

Casual visitors to the base should try to avoid arriving at Edwards during peak traffic hours from 6 to 8:30 a.m.
