Outdoor Rec offers RV parking for Team Edwards Published Aug. 14, 2007 By Debra Ashlee 95th MSSS EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Recreational vehicle storage is essential to Edwards because parking an RV in Edwards' military family housing is prohibited. The purpose of RV storage is to ensure active-duty military living on base have access to park their RV in compliance with the housing rules. To fulfill that purpose, the assignment of spaces is done on a priority system. First priority is active-duty servicemembers living on base, followed by those active duty living off base. Third priority is retired military and fourth is reserve military. The fifth priority is Edwards Department of Defense personnel and contract employees. The two storage areas on base are managed by Outdoor Recreation and include 362 spaces. Starting Oct. 1, the current fees, which have been in place since May 2000, will increase from $10 to $25 a month. RV storage on Edwards will remain a hot commodity because storage fees in the off base local community run from $40 to over $100 a month. For more information, call Outdoor Recreation at 275-CAMP.
