Air Force taps 34 Edwards captains for promotion Published Dec. 11, 2007 EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Several Edwards officers will soon trade in their captains bars for an oak leaf. Thirty-four captains based here were notified today of their selection to the rank of major. In the Air Force as a whole, the 2007A line of the Air Force, biomedical sciences corps, nurse corps and medical service corps central selection board selected 2,535 captains for promotion. The board considered 3,138 captains for promotion.
